Description
Four men. Four different cancer journeys. One powerful conversation about finding a way forward when the odds feel overwhelming.
Recorded at the Yes To Life Conference 2026 – In Person, 26 September, this moving and inspiring panel brings together four men at the heart of Yes To Life’s 4MEN campaign: Murray Cluley, Dale Atkinson, John Bennetts and Tim Messom, facilitated by cancer researcher and clinician Dr Sam Watts.
Each man has faced a life-threatening cancer diagnosis and a daunting prognosis, yet each has navigated his own deeply personal path. Through their honest accounts, they explore the mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions of survivorship, the choices that shaped their journeys and the importance of taking an active role in their wellbeing.
Going beyond individual stories, this candid discussion explores the common ground between their experiences, challenges assumptions about what it means to face cancer as a man, and opens up a conversation about hope, resilience and the many dimensions of recovery. The audience-led question-and-answer session also offers an opportunity to hear more about the experiences, decisions and insights behind each man’s journey.
Whether you’re living with cancer, supporting someone close to you or seeking to understand the human experiences behind survivorship, this is a compelling and deeply human conversation that reminds us that every cancer journey is different — and that no one should have to navigate it alone.
