Emily Kicklighter

Emily’s breast cancer diagnosis was de novo metastatic, which means she did not have a recurrence after an earlier stage cancer. What she did have, however, was chronic, recurrent debilitating back pain…until she didn’t. She healed from a decade of pain after discovering the work of Dr. John Sarno, a physician at NYU, who connected physical pain to a physiological response to an unconscious psychological stimulus. Knowing the power of unconscious emotions and beliefs and their impact on physical health enabled Emily to tackle to these more nuanced aspects of healing with a broader perspective and deeper understanding.

With integrated therapies, Emily was able to achieve No Evidence of Disease status just months after diagnosis with no surgery, chemo or radiation. She happily shares her experiences to help thrivers understand and uncover what lies beneath: the layers of unconscious emotions and beliefs that may stall or inhibit healing.
